> Anon's Log, Day 3 in Equestria

> I'm still a bit shocked at how... nice these ponies have been.
> Seriously, all I did was make an offhand mention about wanting something to write with and Celestia gave me this notebook. I'm pretty sure this is real gold on the cover.
> I guess gold might not be as much of a luxury around here, there seems to be quite a lot of it in the palace, but I can't help but think that a pony ending up on Earth would not have ended well. Even if they'd just appeared in a major city, let alone inside the capitol, they would have been in a room full of government spooks by the end of the day.
> That's not even taking into account the whole magic thing. I saw Celestia raise the sun yesterday.
> I can understand how she ended up running the country.

> Anon's Log, Day 7

> The maids are still being weird about my socks, and I've yet to figure out why. It can't be that I'm the only one who wears clothes, I've seen other ponies doing it - I'm not even half as dressed up as that Blueblood guy.
> Maybe it's a status thing?
> Speaking of status, it's still unreal to have the horse president just top by and ask how I'm doing. She seemed so sincere about it, too, and it just makes it stranger. I'm just some hairless ape! She raises the sun!
> I told her I was fine. No point in complaining about what can't be fixed. It keeps me up at night, though.
> I might never see another human ever again.

> Anon's Log, Day 11

> I should probably ask about the local calendar eventually. Can't just keep dating these by how long I've been in Equestria.
> I'll have to remember to ask Celestia to thank whoever made me these extra clothes too, although I have no clue how they got my measurements. These things are better tailored than what I arrive with. Something else I'll have to chalk up to magic, I suppose.
> I went for a walk again last night, and the pony was in the gardens again. Still don't recognize them, not that it means much.... Thought about trying to talk to them, but I wasn't exactly in the mood for company.
> It's odd, though. I don't think I've seen any other pony out that late, other than the guards at least. Maybe they'll be back tonight.

> Be Anon, dimensionally misplaced human, on a nighttime walk
> The pony in the gardens is bawling their eyes out. Loudly.
> It's honestly kind of surprising that no one has come by to check it out. You're more than a little tempted to leave, but...
> This might be the first pony that you've actually seen cry.
> There were those stallions that got rather emotional when they'd realized that you'd been separated from your family, but then they were hugging you and trying to make you feel better. It had come out of left field for you at the time, but ponies seem to be a lot more... touchy feely than humans.
> You sigh, mind made up. The mare turns to face you at your approach, a hastily raised hoof already trying to wipe away her tears, but you close your arms around her before she can do anything else.
> It's like you blew a hole in the Three Gorges Dam.
> A veritable flood of pony tears sweep over you as she throws herself into your hug, clinging to you like she's drowning even as you start rubbing her back. You're not sure how long you spend like that, but eventually the tears subside and she pulls back, rubbing furiously at her eyes.
> "Thou must think us an embarrassment, to cry like a foal upon a stranger's shoulder."
"I don't."
> It slips out of your mouth before you can even really think about it, but it's true.
"You seem lonely, more than anything else, and I, well I think I get that. There's not exactly many other humans around here. It's... kind of far from home."
> "Human?" the mare repeats as she realizes something. "You must be Anonymous! Our sister has mentioned you. I should have recognized you by your, ah, clothing." You have more than a sneaking suspicion that she's talking about your socks.
"Yeah, I don't exactly have fur, and it gets pretty cold up here in Canterlot, especially at night. I kind of need to bundle up. Who's your sister, if you don't mind me asking? One of the maids?"
> Luna blinks, shocked for a moment, and starts laughing.

> Anon's Log, Day 12

> I ASKED IF CELESTIA WAS A MAID

> Anon's Log, Day 13

> Reminder to self, never ask Blueblood about his maps ever again. The man needs a hobby. I feel bad for saying it, but that was insufferable. He's a nice guy, a bit effeminate but he's been very concerned with how I've been settling in.
> He offered to share a drink with me in his office, and the whole place was just plastered in maps. The moment I brought them up it was like I was back in school. He just started ranting how revolutionary these "Marecator" projections were. I had no idea what any of it meant, but at least I didn't fall asleep while he was talking about them.
> I probably shouldn't have stayed up so late last night.
> Princess Luna was just so eager to talk to with me. I think I would have felt bad just leaving her alone out there. And, honestly, it was a bit flattering, although I have no clue why she was so interested. I would think she'd try to avoid me after how embarrassed she'd been the night before. Maybe it's the novelty? Or perhaps there just aren't that many other people for her to talk to that late at night.
> It was just small talk, for the most part, no more hugging or crying, although that's probably a good sign, all things considered.

> Anon's Log, Day 21

> I mentioned a few constellations from Earth last night. I don't think I've seen Princess Luna that excited before. She had more questions about what humans thought about the stars than I had answers. I think she was a little disappointed that the monsters they were based on were just myths, but she was happy enough to share a few Equestrian constellations based off of real monsters.
> Hydras and Manticores and Dragons, oh my.
> It's like something out of a monster manual. Canterlot might not be the warmest place around, but I'm glad I ended up here and not elsewhere.
> Blueblood tracked me down to talk about some upcoming gala. He said that first impressions were important, and seemed to think it was incredibly important that the both of us have brand new outfits for the event. This... could be a status thing, but I think he might just be more girly than I thought.
> Oh, and on the topic of clothing, a pair of my underwear seems to have gone missing. My gut instinct is to ask that maid, but for some reason I don't think that'll get me very far.

> Anon's Log, Day 28

> I need to look into getting some warmer clothes.
> It's only going to keep getting colder, and while Luna's wing is surprisingly effective at keeping me warm, I'm pretty sure I can't just walk around wearing royalty all winter. Maybe I should speak to Luna about it? I'd feel a bit awkward if I had to keep bugging Celestia about clothing, but I have no clue where to get it otherwise.
> Unless...
> I take back everything bad I've said about Blueblood. This whole gala thing is just an excuse to get me comfortable with the stores in Canterlot, isn't it? He was even offering to shop with me, probably to make sure I didn't get ripped off or anything like that. I can't believe I missed that. I'll have to ask if that offer is still open.

> Be Anon, in one of your now nightly conversations with Luna.
> The bench makes for close quarters. Especially since Luna insists on lying down next to you, not that you were going to complain about it. She hums as you idly run a hand through her mane.
> "Anon, what do you make of this gala that everyone is talking about. We are afraid we do not know what to expect of it."
> You spend a moment to think about just how seriously some of the more uptight nobles have been preparing for it.
"It sounds like it's going to be fancier than anything I've ever been to before, and if that means anything like it does back home, then there's going to be a lot of tiny plates with even tinier food."
> "Tiny food?" Luna asks, sounding confused. "Why would anypony want to have small foods?"
> You shrug.
"There was a reason I preferred normal parties and festivals."
> Luna seems to deflate at your answer, but she perks back up when you mention festivals. "What are your Earth festivals like? You've said that the Earth has no magic, so what do you do for celebrations?"
"Depends. Music and games, mostly. Or fireworks, if it's nice out."
> "Fireworks?"
"Yeah, they're sort of like... colorful explosions, I guess. You set them off in the sky and they make these showers of sparks and smoke. I'm sure you guys have something like it here, I'll have to look it up. You'd definitely love it."
> "Colorful explosions," Luna chuckles. "We have never heard of these fireworks before, although we do know of a few spells for shaping fire. It does sound interesting, although you might wish for some assistance researching. After all, you are... unusually uninformed when it comes to magic."
"Hey, it's not my fault I didn't know what an alicorn was," you say with an exaggerated huff. "For all I knew you could've been like a pegacorn or something."
> Luna slumps back, and you can immediately tell you said something wrong.
> "All things considered, you would not have been that far off," Luna says with a sigh. "We are currently a truly poor example of alicorn. It has been a month since our return, and we can hardly raise our own moon! The only reason we are a Princess is Celestia's charity, we are more useless than the nobles."
"Hey, don't say that about yourself, Luna, you're still recovering."
> You place a hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her, but she throws it off as her voice raises.
> "Are we? We have hardly noticed our magic's return and even now we are hardly as large as our own guards!"
> You stand and pull Luna up with you. She seems shocked as you press up against her.
"When I met you earlier this month you barely came up to my hip!" Luna is still speechless as you indicate how tall she's grown, so you continue. "I might not know anything about magic, but this seems obvious enough! It's just hard to tell since it's coming back day by day, alright?"
> You calm down and look to her for agreement, only to realize that you've practically shoved your crotch into her face. Cheeks heating up, you back off and apologize.
> "No, no, it is alright," Luna says, although she seems a bit distracted. "Thank you for your kind words, Anon. You've given us something to think of, I mean, think on."
> You notice that, even though she's accepted your apology, Luna's wings are still stiff and her chest is sort of thrust out. You're not sure what this means, it's the first time you've seen a pony looking like this, but the two of you had been shouting. Maybe it was some kind of instinctual reaction to make herself look larger?
"If you're sure," you say, deciding to look it up later as you sit down on the bench and pat the seat next to you. "C'mon, you were asking about the Gala right? Blueblood's been talking about it all week..."
